1. Try to unplug and replug the cable

Sometimes the cable just doesn’t connect as expected. A simple unplug and replug might help.

  1. Unplug the cable from the iPhone
  2. Wait 10 seconds
  3. Connect the cable again

2. Reset Device Connections

Sometimes the piece of macOS that handles the device connections get stuck, a reset of all device connections might solve this.

  1. Make sure to have the Bezel app in the foreground
  2. From the menubar at the top choose Help > 'Reset Device Connections…'
  3. After about a minute Bezel will have reset all connections

3. Try another cable

The cable not connecting properly can also be the issue. Even if charging works, sometimes not enough data can be transmitted over a defective cable or some USB-hubs.

  1. Unplug the cable from the iPhone and Mac
  2. Remove any USB hubs you use
  3. Take the other cable and connect it directly to the iPhone and Mac

4. Restart the iPhone
